I have the pride privilege and immense pleasure to say a few words about the college, I am working in since its inception in 2011, named in commemoration with the gigantic literary stalwart in the world and a Nobel Lawret (Literature) , 1939, first in the Country for this rare honour, He is Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.
The College has a decent academic climate being situated in a rural vicinity, full of natural beauty, with tranquil and serene atmosphere by the side of a pucca Road connecting to Mathabhanga, the subdivisional hqrs. and Sitalkuchi , Block head quarters and extended to the railway station and the District Head qrs. Cooch Behar and the University of North Bengal, it is affiliated to . It is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide No: ERC/7-ER-130.6(i).3/2011/11118, dated: 12 April, 2012 . It is a composite institute with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) both having two years training span.
The intake capacity of B.Ed. Course is 100 with 50 in additional section. Current year (2015-2016) two years B.Ed. Course has been introduced and now the Roll-strength is 100. This being a teachers’ training for both Institute elementary and secondary, we endeavor to build the foundation of teachers our promising teachers, who are to prepare the able citizens of the country, who are to drive the developmental wheels of our Nation faster. As has been rightly remarked by Dr. D.S. Kothari, chairman of Education Commission,”The Classroom shapes the future of the Nation”, our mission is to flourish the classroom by ablest trained operators to shape the nation in the classroom.
It will not be inappropriate to highlight here our achievements during the short span of the institution. In the first batch(2012-2013) 84 students came out successful with 47 Students in 1st Class. Similarly in 2014 our achievement is 100 percent with 69 students in 1st Class. In the current session we have the privilege of having cent percent result with 88 students 1st class and the topper scoring 1037 marks out of 1400 marks. I will give all credit to my beloved staff members for their efficient guidance and sincere labour. I shall fail in my duty of , I don’t offer my if thanks to the members of the Governing Body and other concerns, who regularly keep vigilant watch over on its functioning with timely help and co-operation . My special thanks to the Secretary Sri Sibsundar Saha, whose extra ordinary efforts are the out come of its over all success, who is indeed the main spring of this academic complex. This is just a beginning and our goal is miles to go before rest or sleep.
